Sickness
Sickness has descended upon me
Without any invitation
Sickness, you teach me well
I learn to be tolerant of my physical limitations
I learn to accept
Suffering is a fact of life
Sickness is sometimes inevitable
I learn the meaning of emptiness
For suffering and all types of emotion
Are parts of an ever-changing cycle of life
I am here for a higher cause
To find meaning and fulfilment in my life
Through the journeying of my mind
Using my physical body as the vehicle for my growth
Amidst all things
My spirit has been kept up by
My faith
and
The unconditional love and acceptance of Buddha Amitabha
HE has seen me weep with gratitude in my difficult hours
I know I'll never be alone
As long as I remain mindful of the name A-Mi-Ta-Bha
