Praise and Ridicule
The praise
Is a bit too overwhelming
It seems overboard
One day
Out of the blue
Came the ridicule
Is a bit too overwhelming
It seems overboard
The swing
From praise to ridicule
From up to down
Is towards things
Which has remained the same
The only change - Is the jealousy
The only change - Is the loss of control
The only change - Is the mental attitude
If our appreciation of ourselves
Is through the praise of others
Our self worth
Will be like a swinging pendulum
At the mercy of others
Dear Disciple
Our ordinary mind
Is forever changing
That is NOT the true nature of the mind
By contemplating upon
The emptiness of - praise and ridicule
The impermanence of - praise and ridicule
You will be calm
