The war between U.S.A. and Iraq finally erupted. All the peace lovers of this world had tried everything
possible but yet had failed to prevent this war from taking place. We felt terribly sorry that this had to happen.
We believe that the majority of people in this world do not want this war. Then why can't we effectively stop
this war from happening? It is because the people of this world all share in this common karma! If we want to survive
this calamity, all the peace loving and kind people of this world should gather together. With a loving heart that is true,
sincere and compassionate, let us pray together reverently for a permanent world peace. Hopefully by so doing, we can get a
positive response.
Since the 911 incidents, the whole globe feels its terror. Our everyday lives are now filled with uncertainty.
Some of the political leaders tried to solve the conflicts by using force. Violence against violence can only bring us
more reprisals. It may even be the cause for World War III. It is possible that this war between U.S.A. and Iraq is only
the prelude to the complete destruction of this planet earth and the annihilation of the whole human race.
The only thing we can do today is this: "With our truly sincere, pure, and loving hearts for all people, let us pray
together for a permanent world peace." It is said in the Chinese proverb: "With a truly sincere mind, it can even split
open a gold stone." We are confident that with our immovable faith and love, we will be able to receive a sacred response
that can resolve the calamity caused by the hatred, the confrontations and the conflicts of this world.
I hereby, with my utmost sincerity, wish that all the peace loving, kind people to unite, irregardless of nationality,
race, religious beliefs, that all pray in their own ways, regardless of time and location, whenever have the time available,
to pray with true sincerity, together for the purpose of resolving all conflicts and for a permanent world peace.
At the same time I hope that we can all persuade the others to join us in praying for world peace. An extra person means
an extra strength. With more people join in, it will make our strength and our will that much stronger, the faster its
effects. This is not just for the purpose of saving the lives of millions of people and their properties; it is the best
way to ensure our own safety and the security of our relatives. If we do not do it, we cannot possibly save ourselves from
sharing the evil karma for ending this world.
We need to know that this praying is not limited for the purpose of temporarily resolving the immediate pending disasters.
It is a long-term effort in praying for world peace. Since the beginning of human race on this planet earth, war has never
stopped. If we want to reach a permanent world peace, we should always keep a truly sincere and loving heart, and only by
praying with a truly sincere heart, can we achieve this result. With the slightest slack, conflicts and confrontations will
erupt again. Therefore, it is necessary that we must never stop praying for peace.
We must deeply believe that our sincere prayers will transmit our thoughts of peace, and further more, that it can put
an end to this war and resolve the pending disasters caused by the conflicts. This is not superstitious. It is proven to be true.
During the World War II, in order to end the Japanese invasion of China, the journal of the Chinese-Japanese Buddhist
Society for Peace published this article: "All the effects of bitterness are derived from the causes that are bitter in
origin. Our karmas are all created and changed by our minds. We should know that in this universe the emptiness does not
occupy the largest space, it is the mind that permeates everywhere in this universe. A diamond is not the strongest, our
will is. The most important and effective way for us to cultivate together is for all to make the same wish at the same time.
One man's calling can only reach yards away. When thousands of people call out together, the sound can travel a very far
distance miles away. The light of one candle can only light up the entryway. The light of a huge torch can light up the
whole sky. Even though the effects of our karmas are unimaginable, so is the power of our wishes. Since the pending
disasters we face together are the effects of our common karma, this great misfortune can only be eliminated by the power
of this shared wishful thoughts for peace." It also said: "Even though we pray to heaven for its blessings, we can only
seek happiness from within ourselves. We are the creators of our own fortunes and misfortunes. Without exception, this
maxim is the principle used in all religions past and present that will make our prayers come true." Therefore, it is our
only way of getting rid of our common karma, and of resolving the pending calamity.
Currently in Australia, all the students of the Pure Land Learning College are diligently chanting Amitabha Buddha's name
trying to eliminate the pending disasters and praying for a permanent world peace. All the students of Pure Land sect of
Buddhism worldwide have also joined in our efforts of praying for world peace.
All of us deeply believe that the power of praying together for a common cause will give us an unimaginable response.
This fact had been proven by the experiments and the tests done by the Japanese scientists.
Just recently the Japanese scientist, Dr. Emoto and his colleagues published their findings on the Water Crystal.
They proved that "The conscious minds of the human race can change the texture and the shape of water crystals." Thus,
from the same principle, we know that human consciousness has the capability of changing its entire environment.
Example one:
On the 2nd of February 1997 at 2 p.m., a glass of water containing the tap water from Tokyo was sitting on top of Dr.
Emoto's office desk. 500 Hado instructors across Japan were invited to participate from various different locations to
visualize this glass of water all at the same time by sending the signals of their feelings that they wish the water to be
clean and the message of "thank you very much." Afterwards, the photos of the water crystals were taken under the microscope
showing beautiful designs. This experiment proves that human thoughts can be gathered regardless how far apart they are
from each other.
Therefore, all the peace loving people of this world, let us all pray together. As long as we pray with hearts that
are truly sincere and loving, for sure, we can change the matter of the nature.
Example two:
At Fujiwara Dam located at Minakami-cho, Gunma Prefecture in Japan, another experiment was done on "Purifying the Water
with Inspiration of Words." The experiment was a perfect success, and its results were astounding. Reverend Kato Hoki,
the chief priest of Jyuhouin Temple, Omiya City, held the experiment.
Before the experiment, the shape of the water crystals under the microscope was ugly. After an hour of praying, people
can see the water slowly turn clear and clean. The photos taken of the water crystals appeared beautifully. All the people
present were very surprised and very touched by this experiment.
The above two of the experiments done by the scientists proved what Buddha said in the Sutras that "All things are
derived from the all-knowing mind. All causes and effects, as big as the world, as small as the particle, are too formed by
the all-knowing mind. It is because the self-nature of all the worlds with all their contents is all-knowing." This is the
reason and the principle that explain to us why, when we pray with our utmost sincerity; we can create unimaginable positive
mutual responses.
We deeply believe that even though we live in the different parts of the world, if all people with noble ideals and
visions can come together in their minds for the purpose of resolving the conflicts of this world, and praying for a
permanent world peace, with a heart that is truly sincere, pure, equal and compassionate, for the rest of our lives, we
should all genuinely pray for a change from evil to goodness from delusion to enlightenment. We will definitely gain
incredible response from doing so. Buddha said the merits and the virtues derived from using this method are immeasurable
and limitless. It is the best and the surest way to save this world from the disastrous catastrophes. I sincerely hope that
all the kind and the good people of this world share in our wish, together, let us all respond to this kindest act of
praying together for world peace. If we can all do so, indeed, it is most fortunate for our world!
